BIG SOLAR S.A.

BIGSOLAR S.A is a Hellenic company operating mainly in the fields of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Saving Solutions. BIGSOLARS.A.is the largest stockholder and distributor of solar panels and inverters in Hellas. It was established in 2009. In 2012, BIGSOLAR generated sales of 97 million euro and earnings of 13 million euro. BIGSOLARS.A.employs a workforce of 60 professionals.

BIGSOLAR is affiliated to BITROS Group of companies, one of the oldest and largest Hellenic industrial and commercial groups, established in 1945 and being listed in the Athens Stock Exchange since 1990. The traditional activities of the Group deal with the stockholding, processing and distribution of steel products.

Apart from the trade of the PV systems, BIGSOLAR also undertakes turn-key projects of any size, starting from the technical and economic analysis to the supply and installation of the equipment and the maintenance of the PV parks. Up-to-date, BIGSOLAR has constructed PV parks of total power of 20MW.

BITROS Group is also one of the biggest electrical power producers from RES in Hellas, owing PV plants of more than 12MW total power.

Nowadays, BIGSOLAR expands its activities in other RES segments (Biomass, Biogas, small-scale hydroelectric stations and Wind POWER) as an investor, an equipment wholesaler and a total-solutions provider. BIGSOLAR also expands its wholesaling and trading activities to the ENERGY-SAVING SOLUTIONS sector with a complete product portfolio, i.e. heat pumps, central heating and cooling systems, gas condensing boilers, biomass boilers, solar thermal and PV hybrid systems, mini CHP and industrial CHP, energy storage systems and LED lighting products. In this context, BIGSOLAR has developed a strategic cooperation with SAMSUNG.

Along with its activity in the biomass segment, BIGSOLAR is also active in the primary agricultural sector.

With our participation in the trade mission inKenyawe aim to better investigate the local market and to find partners for the deployment of activities similar to the ones we already have in Hellas, and particularly in:

  • Investments in electrical power production from RES (PV, biomass, mini-hydro and wind power)
  • Turn-key solutions’ provision (engineering, procurement of equipment and construction of plants) for RES electrical power generation projects.
  • Wholesale and distribution of the equipment used in projects of electricity generation from RES.
  • Wholesale and distribution of modern heating/cooling systems and LED lighting.
  • Processing and distribution of steel products
